A tracking system carried out by the National Employment Agency on students studying in secondary vocational schools found that 57.5% of the total graduates were in employment 1 year after graduation, of which 38.3% were gainfully employed, 8.0% were self-employed, while 11.2% worked and studied at the same time.
In 2022, comparing the results with the previous year, it shows that there is a significant increase in employed graduates (from 40.2% to 57.5%), accompanied by a decrease in graduates pursuing further studies (from 28.5% in 2020 to 23.5% in 2021.
Of those who had completed their studies, 23.5% were pursuing further qualifications as students or trainees, 10.8% were unemployed and not looking for work, and 7.7% of unemployed graduates were actively looking for work.
Hospitality-Tourism graduates (70%) are more inclined to be employed, thus confirming the employment of professional training oriented towards market requirements. The hotel tourism direction is followed by the directions with an industrial character, where more than half of the graduates of Electrotechnics (55.4%) and SHMT (Transportation Services) (63.3%) were already employed after finishing their professional education.
Graduates in industrial technical fields such as Electrotechnics and SHT were more likely to feel secure and stable in their workplace, compared to other fields.
Also, graduates in Hotel-Tourism and Electrical Engineering were employed with higher salaries. Thus, 35.1% of the graduates in Hospitality-Tourism and 34.3% of the graduates in Electrotechnics, provided an income of more than ALL 50,001.
About 75% of graduates would choose the same school again if they had the opportunity, and this perception does not show significant differences based on gender.
Females are more inclined to evaluate more academic aspects, such as curricula, textbooks, infrastructure, and aspects of teaching. Meanwhile, men, more than women, value more practical and employment-related aspects such as business internships, career counseling, and school cooperation with businesses or Employment Offices;
