Abazovic at the BLED Forum: EU leaders do not know what they want, the demands

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, during his speech at the BLED Strategic Forum, stated that EU leaders are not clear about the future and continuity of the EU, thus directly influencing continuation of negotiations between the EU and candidate countries.

Among other things, Abazovic said that the EU's interest is to have more members, but it is not normal to issue new demands whenever the time approaches for the negotiations to materialize with membership.

He emphasized that "it is not a good idea to wait for a conflict in the Balkans and then wake up."

"We are places of fun and sun and one of the perfect places to do this expansion is Montenegro.

We have achieved results in the fight against corruption, we have no conflicts with our neighbors

 The leaders of the EU did not know what they are looking for, we want to be part of the EU.

I know that the EU's interest is to have more members. 2030 for us in Montenegro is very far, but we must know what the rules are, they must tell us what to do. It is not fair that you tell us to do this, we do it, and then you say you have to do something else. We are not selfish in the context of integration to be integrated, but I think it is not a good idea to wait for a conflict in the Balkans and then wake up," said Abazovic. / CNA
