22 minutes journey/ This is when the railway from Tirana to Durrës will open

The work on the construction of the railway is coming to an end.

Ergys Verdho, the director of the Albanian Railways, said this Friday that 85% of the civil works have been completed.

He revealed that at the beginning of 2026, the first citizens will be able to travel.

"Within the year 2025, all these components, together with the infrastructure that is in its last steps, in February or March we will complete the infrastructure. I say that the year 2025, the end of 2025, will find Tirana-Durrës-Kashar-Rinas at the end", he said.

Verdho emphasized that the journey from Tirana to Durrës will last only 22 minutes, while from Tirana to Rinas 12 minutes.

"The railway stations are those of Durrës, Shkozet, Vora, Kashari and Rinasi, practically there are two, Epoka and the airport", underlined the director of the Albanian Railways./ CNA
