Like every year, this Sunday the Tirana Marathon will take place in the capital.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has announced the paralysis of the traffic while giving the citizens two options, either to join Veliaj in the next show at the Tirana Marathon, or if they want to go out for the weekend on Sunday, to choose to do so before 07:30-08:00, when the city begins a total shutdown for the marathon.

"The capital is also preparing this weekend for the Tirana Marathon, so an invitation to all citizens if they are running and sports types to come out and join us, others if they have to go out for the weekend, come out before 7:30- 8:00 am when we start the total shutdown for the marathon. This is how we make sure that 4,000 foreigners who come to Tirana, 4,000 thousand runners, athletes and their families have an extraordinary time in Tirana, have a good time. "Tirana should really be a beautiful and clean postcard of the new image of Albania," he said.

Veliaj also added that work is being done on setting up signage for the Tirana Marathon./ CNA
