The State Police refutes the opposition: No officers with weapons in the rally

The services of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, with the support of the National Security Force, have taken all measures to guarantee order and public safety, as well as for the success of the gathering organized in front of the Tirana municipality.

During the rally, a call was made for the participants to go to the Assembly Building.

The Police Services, in accordance with the law, the police forces have taken measures to guarantee the security of state institutions in the specific case of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania to prevent a possible attack by protesters against this institution.

Based on the Law "On Assemblies", the police officers, committed to the successful conduct of the assembly, no police officer was equipped with firearms during the assembly, but only with protective equipment and rubber batons.

We deny the news that police officers, in the rally, took out firearms from the rallyers.

The State Police is established to guarantee the right of assembly, freedoms and other rights of citizens, as well as public and private property.
