Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke this evening about SPAK's investigations against the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

Lala said that SPAK can arrest Veliaj with the property investigation, which according to her, is being done in detail.

"A main issue is the mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, where the property investigation is focused. As far as I understand, the only possibility that SPAK can seize is the property investigation. There is a very detailed investigation, similar to the investigation of Mr. Ahmetaj. There were no details about the incinerators, but the way he allegedly cooperated, SPAK accused him of taking bribes. The same practice is being followed for Mr. Veliaj, his family circle is being investigated", she said in a television appearance.

The journalist stated that the property investigation of Veliaj is a file that is being handled separately by SPAK.

"Investigations for the Tirana incinerator have not been closed. It's a fraction. The first phase, there are two groups, the corruption they allegedly committed, Mërtiri, Zoto, etc. There is also a faction. But separately for Mr. Veliaj, it is a property investigation", stressed Lala./ CNA
