The US Chargé d'Affaires, Nancy VanHorn, held a meeting with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, this Thursday.

VanHorn expressed appreciation for SPAK's achievements, while asking for support for this institution.

The American official stated that SPAK and BKH operations should be supported by the police, courts, prosecution offices, vetting offices, inspectorates and councils.

She emphasized that support for SPAK is essential to protect the progress that Albania has made in the rule of law.

"The Charge d'Affaires, Nancy VanHorn, met again with SPAK's Chief Prosecutor, Altin Dumani, and praised SPAK's achievements in prosecuting corruption and organized crime at the highest levels. Ms. VanHorn and Mr. Dumani discussed how SPAK and BKH cannot do this work alone and must rely on institutions such as the police, courts, prosecutor's offices, vetting offices, inspectorates and councils that do their part independently, dedication and integrity. This is essential to protect the progress Albania has made in the rule of law, a key element of the EU integration process," the US embassy announced./ CNA
