1.2 million euro damage/ Delayed reconstruction in Kruja, the tender is delayed

The municipality of Kruja was the most affected by the damage caused by the earthquake of November 26, 2019 in Albania.

But even though the ribbons for residential units of houses financed by private foundations have been cut, the responsible state institutions that are managing millions of euros of earthquake funds, have not worried about the residents left out.

Euronews Albania has provided documents, which show that the Albanian Development Fund has announced the winner for the design of 8 buildings in the municipality of Kruja just 3 weeks ago.

Ndërtimet për tërmetin e 2019-ës në shumë zona po përfundojnë, ndërsa për 8 pallatet në Krujë që do të akomodojnë afro 250 familje, nuk është bërë ende projekti.

Në kohën që institucionet vonojnë procedurat, mijëra euro derdhen çdo muaj nga buxheti i shtetit për të paguar qiratë e familjeve të pastreha.

8 pallatet në Krujë, edhe nëse çdo procedurë zbatohet në kohë, do të duhen të paktën 2 vjet të tjera që të ndërtohen.

Për këtë vonesë të krijuar nga Ministria e Rindërtimit dhe Fondi Shqiptar i Zhvillimit buxheti i shtetit do të paguajë 1.2 milion euro qira shtesë.

The municipality of Kruja has been left without funds even for the approval of the works of the houses that have been completed. This year, this local unit has opened 7 tenders for a modest value of 4,000 euros for the approval of some apartments that have been reconstructed with their own funds. The institutions that have millions of euros for the reconstruction, have not spent the money for the approval of the apartments, which would enable the families to enter the houses.

Until now, the state budget has financed 557 million euros for reconstruction, (GRAPHIC) sums which have been secured by increasing the public debt, while the Ministry of Reconstruction and the Albanian Development Fund have forgotten some areas and prioritized other cities, also created economic damage for the rents paid by the state budget./euronews
