The new judicial map/ 15 lawyers who broke the boycott are subject to

Today at around 14:30 the Disciplinary Commission will meet, which will impose disciplinary measures on 15 lawyers who broke the boycott established by the Bar Association of Albania.

Lawyers are expected to be punished with fines, license suspension and proposed license revocation.

We remind here that a few days ago, the president of the Chamber of Advocates, Maks Haxhia, announced that during the first boycott, some lawyers have attended court proceedings and against them in the next meeting, the disciplinary commission will impose measures up to the revocation of the license.

On July 7, the Chamber of Advocacy decided a general boycott of the hearings, while for security measures it decided a 10-day boycott.

Exceptions to the boycott are only security measures that will be imposed on minors.

The cause of the boycott is the new judicial map that the KLJ has proposed for approval to the Ministry of Justice and Finance for the merger of 18 courts in the country.

The new judicial map foresees a total of 13 courts of first instance, 2 administrative courts and the merger of appeal courts into a single one. The lawyers ask the government not to approve this scheme.
