Silvinjo stuns everyone, 3 players end up in the stands

The Albanian national team will take the field tonight against Poland in a historic match for the 2026 World Cup play-offs, but with some important changes to the roster.

Coach Silvinjo, forced by UEFA rules that only allow 23 players to be fielded per match, has left out Jasir Asani, Nazmi Gripshi and Klisman Caken from the final list for this match.

The decision to send Yasir Asan to the stands comes as a surprise, given his prominence in past qualifiers, but confirms his fall in the attacking hierarchy following his transfer to the Iranian championship.

Meanwhile, Gripshi and Cake, who recently moved to Russia, have not been able to convince the Brazilian coach.

On the other hand, the novelties of this group are Stavro Pilo, the AEK defender who chose Albania over Greece, and Bujar Pllana, who will be ready on the bench to reinforce the back line.

Also, the return of Ernest Muçi and Anis Mehmeti gives more creativity to the midfield and attack.

Poland-Albania will be played this Thursday evening starting at 20:45 in Warsaw.
