Silvinjo loses main striker, national team player ends season

The Albanian national team has received some bad news, on the eve of the group stage for the match against Poland. Rey Manaj will not be part of the red and black team, after ending the season prematurely.

Turkish club Sivasspor confirmed that the player suffered a serious injury to the hamstring muscle of his left thigh during the match against Umraniyespor.

Medical examinations showed a grade 3c tendon tear and internal bleeding, an injury that requires at least two months of rest.

This means that the striker will officially miss the March 26 clash in Warsaw, ruining coach Silvinjo's plans. His absence comes at a time of excellent form, where Manaj was the reference point of the attack in the Turkish championship.

Albania's technical staff must now find a replacement to fill the void left in the offensive department. This news adds to the difficulties for our national team on the path to the 2026 World Cup play-offs.

It now remains to be seen which striker will carry the main weight in Warsaw in the absence of the Sivasspor star.
