An Argentine for Italy, Mancini: He told us yes immediately

Mateo Retegui was born in Argentina, plays as a center forward and is part of Tigre. The 23-year-old is originally from Italy and has decided to wear the blue national jersey.

The author of six goals with the Argentine team, has accepted Roberto Mancini's invitation to compete with the four-time World Champions. This was confirmed by the Italian technician himself.

"We have been following Retegui for a long time. He has qualities that we lack. We thought he would not agree to come to Italy. But, he immediately returned a positive answer", declared Mancini.

Italy starts the qualifiers for Euro 2024 on March 26. The blue ones await England in "Diego Maradona". Three days later they will challenge Malta in the transfer.

Mancini's team is part of group C, where, in addition to England and Malta, North Macedonia and Ukraine also belong.
