Italy copies Spain, the Italian Supercup returns with 4 teams

Italy decides to change the format of the Super Cup tournament, copying the Spanish model. A formula which guarantees significant income as it increases the teams participating in the tournament which will take place in Saudi Arabia.

The assembly of the Serie A League has today confirmed the change, making it clear that the champion and runner-up teams, as well as the two finalists of the Italian Cup, will be participating in this tournament starting from the next edition.

Thus, it is almost certain that it will be Napoli, which is heading towards the championship title, while it remains to be seen who will be the team that moves from second place to Serie A. If one of the two finalist teams of the Cup will be in second place in Serie A, then the third team in the championship ranking will go to the tournament.
