"Argentine football mafia", journalist warns of "bombshell"

A warning from French investigative journalist Romain Molina has sparked panic in Argentine football. In a post on the social network X, Molina announced that he is preparing to publish an investigation that he believes could uncover one of the biggest scandals of recent years.

He claims that at the center of the issue is what he calls the "Argentine football mafia," adding that the case has been kept secret by FIFA.

So far, the journalist has not published any evidence or documents to support these allegations. At the same time, Argentine media reports that the FBI and federal prosecutors in Florida are investigating several financial transactions linked to the Argentine Football Federation.

The suspicions relate to money laundering, wire fraud and tax evasion in financial movements that allegedly amount to hundreds of millions of dollars.

However, there are no official charges, investigative findings, or confirmed connections between these issues and the allegations raised by Molina.
