Dinamo volleyball player Nayara Ferreira, who was temporarily suspended by the Albanian Volleyball Federation after being asked to undergo a gender determination test.

Today, in a television appearance, Ferreira stated that her situation is quite difficult and this is the first time something like this has happened to her. The athlete stated that her family and friends are by her side, but she does not feel safe in Albania.

"The situation was really serious and they were really embarrassed and ashamed and didn't know how to  explain it to me. The club came and spoke to me. We have this situation and you are suspended. The club president told me. I was shocked.

It was the first time this situation happened to me in my life. My family and friends are with me, they support me. My mom cried about this situation, she realized that this situation is a big madness. I was 12 years old when I started playing volleyball. Do you want the truth?

I just came here, I've only been here for 3 months and I find myself in this situation. I wonder if I'm safe in this place?

"I feel shocked, I wonder why I deserved this. I wonder about girls all over the world," she said.
