Milan contract expires, Modric decides on future 

Luka Modric is close to extending his stay at Milan for another season. According to reports from Italy, the 40-year-old Croatian midfielder has decided to continue his career as an active footballer, despite his contract with the Rossoneri expiring on June 30.

There had been doubts about his future in recent weeks, particularly after Milan's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Modric had also been linked with a return to Real Madrid in a leadership or managerial role. However, talks with owner Gerry Cardinale and coach Ruben Amorim appear to have influenced his decision.

The Croatian is expected to sign a new deal that will keep him at San Siro for another year. Modric comes at this time after ending his career with Croatia following their elimination by Portugal in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
