Milan completely dominated the encounter with Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia, winning with a comprehensive score of 6-1 and securing passage to the quarter-final stage. The match turned into a "training session" for the red and blacks, who showed superiority in every aspect of the game.

Paulo Fonseca's side started the match strongly, taking the lead in the 12th minute thanks to a quick counterattack finished off by Samuel Chukwueze. Just five minutes later, Reijnders scored a spectacular long-range goal to double the lead. In the 21st minute, Chukwueze scored his second goal, this time after a precise pass from Tammy Abraham, while Rafa Leao sealed the result of the first half with the fourth goal.

In the second half, captain Davide Calabria scored the fifth goal for Milan in the 56th minute. Sassuolo managed to score the honors three minutes later, but Milan's celebration was ended by Abraham, who sealed the final score 6-1.

After the match, coach Paulo Fonseca appeared very satisfied with the team's performance:

"We had a fantastic match and I am very happy with the seriousness and commitment of the team. Despite the changes in the lineup, the players showed continuity and I appreciate that a lot. Now we have a very difficult challenge against Atalanta, but we will prepare to the maximum and play with courage," said Fonseca.

Milan appears strong and convinced to continue with this pace, while preparing for an important duel in the championship.
