Due to the bad weather with snowfall in some regions of the country and rain, the State Police has increased the presence of Road Police employees in the field and of General Patrols, in order to monitor the traffic of vehicles, prevent accidents and help for road users in need.
The police appeals to drivers to show vigilance and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police.
Current situation on road axes:
• The road axis "Bypass-Qafë Murrizë" in Dibër has been blocked by the Traffic Police of Dibër and Tirana to avoid obstacles and blocking the road as a result of the high intensity of snowfall. The contracting firm is working to clear the road of snow.
• The road axis Fushë Arrëz - Iballe, in the segment Qafë Shari - Laku i Ballçit, is currently impassable due to snowfall and strong wind. On the part of the Fushë Arrëz Municipality, measures are being taken to send tools (Fadroma) for opening the road.
• The road axis Qafë Thane - Librazhd has traffic difficulties for trucks, due to the continuous snowfall.
• Across the country, other road axes are open. Snowplows are on the ground and continue to work to clear the roads and spread salt.
At the same time, measures were also taken on the national and urban road axes due to the rain, increasing the traffic police patrols.
The State Police appeals to motorists to moderate their speed, stay in line on axes where there is slow movement, do not make wrong passes, do not use the phone while driving and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police.
In cases of need, road users can call the toll-free number 112, and Police services will immediately go to them to provide the necessary assistance. /CNA
