28% of Albanians have plans to flee the country

Albania risks being further emptied of its local population compared to other countries in the region.

The survey conducted by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) about security issues revealed that a higher percentage of Albanians than the region had developed plans to leave the country.

The question "I have developed a plan to move" was answered positively by 11% of Albanians. This was the highest percentage in the region, almost twice the average in the Balkans.

According to the attached table, about 28% of Albanians have developed plans to leave. 11% have a plan, but not yet clear, 11% have already developed an emigration plan, while 6% have clear deadlines for leaving, while 66% do not want to leave.

Of those who want to leave, 67% are using networks with relatives and friends abroad.

Another 10% will leave for studies. Albania and Kosovo have the lowest level of those who emigrate abroad for studies.

Of the part that plans to leave, 22% are studying foreign languages ??as a prerequisite for leaving. In the Region there are higher percentages of the population who are following foreign languages ??as a prerequisite to leave.

Of those who plan to leave, 18% are applying for blue visa and green card programs, while 3% have secured work contracts at employment fairs held abroad.

29% of those with plans to leave found work through online applications.

According to the data, Albanians who plan to flee have developed more than one plan.

Although Albania has created a positive image for developments in tourism and the country has economic growth above the average of the last decade, citizens still have a high potential to emigrate.

The trend for emigration is now concentrated in the middle class and high-paid employees who prefer to leave for a better education for their children and a better life infrastructure as a whole./ Monitor Magazine
