Rudolph E. Tanzi, a professor of neurology at Harvard and one of the leading researchers on brain health, shares 6 different daily habits that can help slow brain aging and maintain mental clarity.

These are the main things he suggests:

1. Good sleep (7-8 hours a night)

Sleep helps the brain clear out "toxins" - including those linked to Alzheimer's.

2. Stress management

Chronic stress can accelerate the decline in mental function. Tanzi recommends meditation to reduce stress.

3. Social interactions

Meeting and talking to people you like keeps your brain stimulated and reduces isolation.

4. Physical exercises

Movement increases blood circulation and helps grow new brain cells.

5. Learn new things

Trying new activities strengthens neural connections and keeps the brain active.

6. Healthy diet

A Mediterranean-style diet with fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats helps gut bacteria – which are also linked to brain health.
