Alarm in Greece/ Dozens hospitalized for salmonella infection

Part of Greece has been put on alert after numerous cases of hospitalizations with salmonella infection.

In Larisa, salmonella cases have also been confirmed by hospitals, while concerns are growing, as the source of the infection is still unknown.

As of yesterday, 30 cases were officially confirmed, of which 12 patients are hospitalized, as reported by Greek media. 

The President of the National Public Health Organization, Professor of Pulmonology Theodoros Vasilakopoulos, recommended that citizens be particularly careful until the investigation into the case is completed and to avoid consuming chicken meat as much as possible these days, until the salmonella epidemic that began in Lamia passes.

"Logic says that if we're going to eat something now, we should cook it well. And avoid eating chicken for two or three days, until we've reached a final result," Vasilakopoulos said in an interview. /CNA
