Korça turned on the lights of the end of the year holidays on the afternoon of December 6, creating a fantastic atmosphere in the southeastern city.

The Municipality of Korça this year has taken care that the festive decor is more complete and wider compared to other years, covering even more areas of the city, while the December calendar is also of particular importance. The mayor of Korçë, Sotiraq Filo, declared that Korçë is the capital of end-of-year celebrations in Albania, and as such it should create the most beautiful atmosphere for those who choose it as the city of celebrations.

"As has become a tradition, at the beginning of every December, Korça turns on the lights of the festive lighting of the end of the year holidays. Korça is an important tourist destination, it is the capital of the end of the year celebrations in Albania, of Christmas and New Year. Undoubtedly, the municipality has taken care to create the most beautiful atmosphere for these holidays. Part of the atmosphere is the lighting, which this year is more complete, enriched with other elements compared to the lighting of other years, it has covered wider parts of the city, but as important as the lighting is also the calendar of events", said Filo.

The mayor showed the activities and events planned in the southeast throughout the month of December and the first days of January, with numerous concerts, located in different areas of the city, but also near the Andon Zako Çajupi theater.

"Starting today, we have a concert at the stage located at the monument of the National Warrior, to continue with a long calendar of activities throughout the month of December and the first days of January. There are concerts in the pedestrian zone, in the market square, to have a DJ, but also a calendar of activities at the Andon Zako Çajupi theater in the city of Korça. A concert by the Lira Choir, a concert by tenors and a very busy calendar of activities," he emphasized.

Among other things, Filo emphasized that according to the information from the accommodation structures in the municipality and the city of Korça, all the capacities are booked by tourists who will also fill Korça this year-end like never before.

"Yes, definitely, the month of December is the month when the flow of visitors to the city of Korça peaks. From the information we have, from the tourist structures, hotels, guesthouses, the reservations are large, almost all the accommodation capacities of the city and the municipality are booked. So, we will have a very large number of visitors", underlined the mayor.
