The second edition of the "Gjon Mili" International Video Art Festival will begin on November 15 in the city of Korça, at the city's Digital Arts Gallery, with a special activity entitled "Jazz Night, Video Arts and Experimental Works".
This festival is a tribute to the internationally renowned photographer, Gjon Mili, an artist who gave art a new approach through experimentation with light and movement. In its second edition, this festival has become an important platform for artists from all over the world, fostering creativity and innovation in the field of video art.
This year, the festival has attracted a large number of artists from different countries of the world, resulting in a high competition for the acceptance of works. Out of 2,690 applications from
195 countries, only 95 artists have been selected to participate, representing some of the most prominent talents in the field of contemporary art.
These artists will present their works in five main categories: Video Art, Documentary Film, Short Film, Narrative Film and Animated Film.
A Platform for Contemporary Art The "Gjon Mili" festival has quickly become a household name for lovers of experimental visual art and for artists seeking to challenge traditional norms.
This event not only brings together new and established artists from different countries, but also offers the opportunity to experience a wide range of artistic styles and approaches that reflect different cultures and perspectives.
Unlike the traditional film format, video art presents the viewer with an experience free from the rules of linear narrative. At the "Gjon Mili" festival, artists experiment with different techniques, often combining multiple media to create works that reflect different feelings, messages and ideas.
This experimental approach makes this festival an important platform for all those who want to experience new forms of visual art.
Gjon Mili - The Inspiration of the Festival
Gjon Mili, whose name bears the name of the festival, was a famous Albanian photographer, known for
using light and movement in a new way to capture special artistic moments.
Through his photographs, he managed to bring about a new artistic form, challenging the photographic norms of his time. His experiments with moving light and visual effects have become an important source of inspiration for many contemporary artists.
In an effort to honor his legacy and promote artistic experimentation, the "Gjon Mili" festival gives artists an excellent opportunity to present their works in an environment that inspires creativity and a sense of exploration.
In its second edition, which will run until December 22 and will also take place in New York, USA, the festival aims to awaken the public's interest in new forms of visual art.
International Video Art Festival "Gjon Mili" is more than a cultural event, it is a space for the union of ideas and creative spirits from every corner of the globe.
All visual art enthusiasts are welcome to explore these unique works and experience a new world of emotions and perspectives that the participating artists bring./ CNA
