Elzbieta Loska, the Polish tourist guide in Saranda for 10 years

She came from Poland for two weeks as a tourist to Saranda and fell in love with this city at first sight. She is Polish Elzbieta Loska, who has been leading the Polish tourist guide in this city for 10 years. During her 10-year journey, Elzbieta has also learned the Albanian language.

" For the first time in 2025, I traveled alone for a vacation. Albania was not well known in Poland, but I wanted to visit it after seeing the beautiful beaches on the internet. I realized my dream, passing through Greece, and quickly fell in love with this country ," said the Pole.

Influenced by public opinion, she was a steppe for Albanians, but when she traveled from Corfu to Saranda, she was told by her friends that Albania is the opposite of what we know. She decided to live in Saranda, guiding Polish tourists through the attractions of the southern region from Saranda, Butrint, the Blue Eye and Gjirokastra.

A friend of mine here told me to try living in Albania. I spent two weeks on vacation and then I finally came back. I found a university to learn Albanian and started a new chapter in my life ,” Elzbieta says.

Elzbieta has now expanded her activity by collaborating with locals to also focus on the real estate market, for all those Poles who are interested in investing in real estate.

" Then, I started promoting Albania and Saranda, to combat the negative prejudices that Poles had about this country. I tried to show them that Albania has much more to offer, not only the sea, but also mountains and a rich history ," she said.

In Saranda, there are about 20 private entities owned by foreign citizens who, after visiting the city as tourists, have developed these economic activities in the field of tourism, real estate agencies, bars and restaurants, and enterprises for the management of hotel structures in Saranda and Ksamil.

" I got my license as a tourist guide and now I accompany tourists to places such as Butrint, Gjirokastër and Syri i Kaltër. ??I want tourists to understand that Albania is a country with many natural and historical treasures, not only for the sea it has. I have helped many Poles find homes here, making it easier for them to integrate in Albania and offering them support for places where they can live ," said the Polish guide./ CNA
