The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj together with the Mufti of Tirana, Lauren Luli and dozens of believers of the area, opened the doors of the new mosque on "Hamdi Cullaj" street in Kombinat.

The mayor expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to people in need, not only during the holy month of Ramadan.

"I am glad that the mosque opens in the holy month of Ramadan. Being a city, being a municipality, is connected to the mosque, especially Tirana, which was born from the construction of the mosque. I greatly appreciate the contribution of the brothers who serve from corner to corner. When the earthquake happened, a large part of people who felt very worried, endangered, gathered in the mosque, because they felt faith, joining with others to pass a difficult moment. During the pandemic, most of the mosques in Tirana turned into canteens for those who were lonely, who could not leave the house. I want to thank with all my heart those who have contributed, either with the construction of the mosque or with the small decorations ; you have all my gratitude and the great God's rewards", said Veliaj./CNA
