The "Report of the activity of the Water Regulatory Authority (ERRU) for the year 2022" is being discussed in the assembly.

The head of the DP, Sali Berisha, said from the pulpit that the price of water has increased by 40%, where it can be given for free because of the natural reserves that Albania has.

Berisha emphasizes that this is a blow to the middle class and brings the departure of Albanians from the country.

"You increase water by 40% when Albania is one of the richest countries with water. Water should be given for free, because of the natural reserves we have. What happened to the price hike? Tirana water supply guarantees loss.

Also, the Durrës Waterworks recorded a loss of 71%. The creation of conditions in the UN convention is considered a genocidal act. You have driven 35% of Albanians from their lands these years. Now you have dealt the fatal blow to the middle layer, now destroy this layer too.

These services that you get abroad with charters, forget that Albanians need them. With my voice of protest, I condemn the adoption of this law. The middle class does not suit you", said Berisha./ CNA.al
