Diaspora Vote/ Balla instructions: How to avoid mistakes during registration

The Political Leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, has spoken about the high number of errors in applications during the diaspora registration process for participation in the May 11 elections.

Through a video message published on social networks, Minister Balla shows how compatriots can avoid mistakes when registering on the CEC portal.

Balla also called on immigrants in his message to register immediately, as there are still 40 days left until March 4, when the online registration deadline ends. Balla reminded them of the correct list of valid documents, but drew attention to the most common and avoidable mistakes, from uploading documents that do not contain the residential address to "screenshots" of the address on Google Maps or invoices with your address, all of which are invalid, and the reason why their application was rejected:

1. The most common and easiest mistake to overcome. You have uploaded only the front side of the Italian ID card as address verification document, which does not contain the address. *REMEMBER!* The address is listed on the back of the ID.

2. Another error is when you have uploaded the license of the country where you are, for example Italy, which does not contain the person's address as an element.

3. You have uploaded a residence permit, which does not contain the address.

4. You have uploaded a "Permanent resident card" which does not contain the address.

5. You have uploaded passports from different countries, which do not have address information.

6. You have uploaded a screenshot of the address from Google Maps as proof.

7. You have uploaded a purchase receipt for a product, which contains name and address details.

8. You have uploaded Albanian documents as proof of address (passport, ID card, family certificate, license issued by the Albanian state).

9. Envelopes containing your address have been uploaded, but they are not considered a valid document.

Therefore, please only use valid documents.

Registration is done through the Electronic Registration Platform for Voters from Abroad [https://diaspora.kqz.gov.al](https://diaspora.kqz.gov.al), which can also be accessed from the CEC application:

The CEC has determined that the required address declaration documentation must contain the voter's name identical to the name on the ID document for PER registration (one of them):

ownership document or equivalent issued in the country of residence, proving ownership of the apartment;

document proving residency in a foreign country, issued by the relevant authorities;

rental or loan contract for the apartment;

bank document(s) (loan contract, bank certificate, etc.), containing the residential address;

supply contract or water supply invoice for the apartment;

supply contract or energy bill (gas or electricity) in the apartment;

digital audiovisual broadcasting service subscription contract or invoice;

contract or invoice for the provision of internet/landline telephony service in the apartment;

driving license (license), in cases where the residential address is indicated;

document issued by a competent authority of the country of residence, which certifies the voter's stay in a health institution, immigration camp, or other similar facility;

any other document, issued in a foreign country, that proves the Albanian citizen's residence at the self-declared address abroad.

For registration, you need an electronic device (smartphone, laptop, PC equipped with a front camera) for verification through facial recognition for PER registration and scanning (photographing) your identification document and other address declaration document.
