Vokshi: More than 20 MPs in parliament are representatives of criminal gangs

Democratic MP Albana Vokshi said today that in the new legislature, more than 20 MPs are representatives of criminal gangs and drug gangs.

In an interview on 'Syri TV', Vokshi stated that despite this situation and the numerous pressures and threats from these gangs towards the opposition, the democratic deputies will continue their battle.

Vokshi assured that the Democratic Party and the opposition will be in the Assembly to represent the citizens, even though they are blocked by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"We have a parliament where more than 2 deputies are representatives of criminal gangs and drug gangs. We will not have deputies who will speak for the citizens, but for the drug cartels."

As I mentioned in the plenary session, we are there to represent the citizens.

Rama will do his utmost to block the opposition. We will find all forms and spaces to be an opposition. We did not give up our mandates because the citizens need to be represented.

Although we know and are aware that it will not be easy. We will face drug representatives. Gangs have also had influence in Korça, Lushnja, Elbasan.

We have representatives of the criminal elements that operated in Dibër. We have some representatives of the Gjirokastër district of the Habilajve.

"We are facing pressures and threats, and it is certain that they will also be physical. But we are determined to continue the battle despite the threats inside and outside the parliament," said Vokshi./ CNA
