Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke in a TV appearance about SPAK's investigations, about Tirana's incinerator and about mayor Erion Veliaj.

Lala said that Tirana's incinerator and the garbage issue is a test for SPAK.

She mentioned the arrested directors of the Municipality of Tirana and the documents signed by Veliaj, as she raised doubts about the direct implication of the latter.

Also, the journalist clarified that the investigations are continuing for the Tirana incinerator, but also for the wealth of Veliaj and his family members. 

"The investigation into the incinerator in Tirana is ongoing and has not ended. But I think that the Special Prosecutor's Office is too late. The investigation into Veliaj is a touchstone for SPAK. Corruption about the incinerator screams. There is no incinerator, Tirana is filled with garbage. We have a deputy prime minister on the run, a former minister and a former deputy in the cell, some convicted and some under investigation. We have Taulant Tušen, one of Veliaj's most trusted, in the cell. Is Veliaj uninvolved, for how long there are documents from his side? I doubt that Veliaj should be investigated and his responsibility should be seen. Why did the prosecution delay it? I don't know, the prosecutors should explain it.

If we take Rexë Byberi, who is under house arrest for several kilometers of the road, while on the other hand, we have millions of euros thrown into the incinerator that does not exist and Veliaj without security measures, this jumps and screams, people understand it very clearly.
The Prime Minister may be exerting influence on the prosecution to close this case.

Despite the fact that SPAK is taking slow steps. We also have the '5D' issue. I read a recent decision. The Court of Special Appeals has analyzed the case and has realized that not only the arrested officials, Redi Molla and Qato, the de facto owners of '5D', but it turns out that others, like Elton Kacidhja, also have dozens of communications for two years and a half with the de jure owner of '5D', Nestor Muhametllari. The court leaves the task to the prosecution and says, in some cases Kacidhja has been the Contracting Authority, has had contact with the administrator, or the owner of the company's papers. Then the court says investigate!

Also, the brother of Taulant Tusha turns out to have had communications with the owner of '5D' in letters, there are even interesting moments and the media is silent, as Nestor Muhametllari says, "those from the municipality will throw us money and I will give two tens". So, continuing the investigation and leaving tasks, it seems that the prosecutors are going in the direction of Mr. Veliaj. The only person who does not communicate with Muhametlar is Veliaj, but all his subordinates are in direct communication with Muhametlar.

There, Tivari, another director, appears, which results in problems for a piece of land of unclear origin. What we do not know clearly is the property investigation against Veliaj, his brother and family members. As for the companies of Arbë Veliaj, the prosecution has received all the documents, not only for that, but also for the activity of Ms. Xoxa. So, it remains unclear because we are waiting for data from abroad.

Everyone is waiting for the progress of the investigations, but the SPAK must act quickly as it is not a matter of any kind. It is one of the most important issues. Veliaj is the potential candidate to succeed Mr. Rama, in this sense if he is amnestied, if the prosecution amnesties him, it could be an increased risk," said Lala./ CNA
