The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has not hesitated to "threaten" Albania again with EU integration.

Present at the 88th fair of Thessaloniki, the head of the Greek government spoke about the issue of property rights of the Greek minority in our country, considering it as the main condition for Albania's integration into the European Union.

Mitsotakis said that Greece wants to have very good relations with Albania and that he will work with MEP Fredi Beleri in the European Parliament on the issue of the properties of the Greek minority.

"We aim for the best possible relations with all our neighbors, including Albania. We went through a difficult period and I don't want to talk in detail about the Fredi Beleri case. I want to express my satisfaction that he was with us at the International Fair and that this completely unfair and unnecessary experience he went through is finally over.

Let me say once again that the relations, looking at the broad picture, that is the relations between Greece and Albania, we want to have very good ones. They go from respecting the rights of the Greek national minority of Albania.

The issue of property rights has never left our program. It is coming back and what we will do is to ensure, with the help of Fredi Beler in the European Parliament, that the property rights of our compatriots in Albania are fully respected. I would say that this is a necessary condition for Albania to continue on its European path", said Mitsotakis./ CNA
