Sali Berisha, leader of the opposition, commemorated through a message on social networks the uprising of Postriba, which broke out 78 years ago, with the aim of liberating Shkodra, the capital of the north, from the bloodthirsty communist regime.

Dear friends, today Shkodra and the entire Albanian nation honors the 78th anniversary of the first anti-communist uprising in Albania and in Europe the uprising of Postriba.

As today 78 years ago on the night of September 9, 1946, the brave and courageous anti-communists of Postriba, organized and led by the tribune of freedom, Osman Haxhia, stood up with epic courage in the first and most powerful anti-communist uprising of the time, attacked the forces communist invaders. The goal of the insurgents was to liberate Shkodra, the capital of northern Albania, from the brutal and cruel terror invasion that the Albanian Hitler after the war, Enver Hoxha, was exercising in the city and district of Shkodra with the criminal terrorist hordes led by the serial killer Mehmet Shehu.
