The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in a frenzy, has justified the frightening increase in rents and property prices in the capital.

In a meeting in Unit 10, Veliaj said that 93% of Tirana's residents have their own home.

He described as cynics all the people who criticize the increase in property prices.

"You can no longer approach Myslim Shyri because the prices have gone up, the value of the property has increased. For all those cynics who say that the increase in the value of property is a problem, ask 93% of Tirana who actually own their own house. Are you bored when you go from 100 to 200, or from 100 to 50?

So a big city that continues to increase its property means that quality work is being done, but this is essentially political because we sometimes think that politics is only Thursday in Parliament", declared the socialist mayor./ CNA
