Today at the Electoral Reform Commission, commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi is reporting online about some changes to the Electoral Code.

Celibashi focused his words on two issues related to the two decisions of the Constitutional Court ordering the voting of immigrants and the review of the limit of 10,000 votes for the mandate.

He requested that these two decisions should be reflected in the amendments to the Electoral Code.

"CEC is an institution that already has a different configuration than what we are used to seeing before. As I mentioned in the letter sent to the leaders of the political parties, the need to discuss and address the two decisions of the Constitutional Court, the first one dealing with the voting of immigrants and the second with the repeal of the provision of the electoral code that deals with the limit of 10 thousand votes for the mandate. I have considered the need to bring it to your attention. Without going into details, I am presenting a list of aspects of the code changes that need to be addressed," said Celibashi.

Celibashi further underlined that the possibility of voting for about 30,000 people who are unable to appear at the Voting Centers should also be looked at.

"We have brought to your attention the issue of ensuring the right to vote for a category that cannot be seen in the VC, we will continue to leave them without voting or create an opportunity for them to vote, ensuring the secrecy of the vote. I think it is an issue that needs to be addressed, there are about 30 thousand Albanian voters who are unable to appear at the VC. Are we going to continue to have this situation or will we change it? ", said Celibashi./ CNA
