Veliaj, with 13 serious charges/ Myzyraj: PS should enter the elections slowly

Journalist Isa Myzyraj has stated that the November 9 elections are not normal elections.

Myzyraj said that Erion Veliaj is in prison today, accused by the special prosecution with 13 charges that are the most serious criminal offenses that can be committed against an elected official in the Republic of Albania.

Invited to the show Ora e Betit, Myzyraj said that under these conditions, the SP should enter the elections slowly and with its head down.

"It seems to me like we live in a wonderland to some extent. Because we have to get to the core, why are elections being held?

That these are not normal elections. Because under normal conditions in 2027 we could talk about who is at an advantage and who is at a disadvantage.

We are entering elections because the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, is in prison today, charged by the special prosecution with 13 charges that are the most serious criminal offenses that can be committed against an elected official in the Republic of Albania.

So there are no more serious charges against an official, except for terrorism and actions that threaten state security, i.e. espionage.

The accusations that Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana, has today are not summarized in such a beautiful way by any other official.

"And under these conditions, knowing why the elections are being held, the Socialist Party in a normal country, in a country with a functional democracy, should have entered the elections slowly, with its head down, and should have expected a catastrophic result," said Myzyraj./ CNA
