Former DP MP Ervin Salianji spoke this evening about the race for the leadership of the Tirana municipality. Salianji said that candidate Florjan Binaj is a person who should unite all opposition political forces. 

He said on the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" that by supporting Binaj, a non-political candidate, citizens can also send a message to politics.

"I think that today is the moment to find the points that unite us and this is the candidate. In this sense, I think that the party interests that each party has fall and the public interest prevails. Today with a non-partisan candidate, all parties support the candidate of the united opposition. I think differently and that anyone who deals with politics is corrupt.

In this sense, the possibility that all opposition forces and citizens who see politics as dirty have the opportunity to attach themselves to an independent candidate. Florian Binaj is an independent candidate and supported by all opposition parties. Binaj's registration is independent and supported by the DP. This process has produced a unifying product. Citizens have the opportunity that by voting for a candidate like Binaj, they can also give a message to politics, that you have tired us. Binaj is a committed man",  said Salianji. 

Asked if he would be a better candidate than Binaj, Salianji said that he is also prohibited by law from running or participating in these elections. Meanwhile, he emphasized that Binaj is an extraordinary candidate and this, according to him, was demonstrated by the support he received from political parties. 

"Candidate Binaj is a candidate who has an extraordinary and great spirit at the start and this was shown by the support he received from the parties that came together. It is still time for Mr. Qori's party to support the independent candidate. I have been prohibited by law from running for these elections as well. Florjan Binaj is an extraordinary candidate," said the former MP./ CNA
