Accusations from the opposition/ Sara Mila: They were full of balls, I should

Sara Mila was one of the most controversial names in politics during the May 11 elections as she ran for the seat of MP.

During an interview on Radio Tirana 1, the SP MP spoke about the accusations leveled against her by the opposition during the electoral campaign.

She stated that it was an accusation against her and she had no opportunity to express herself.

"I watched as fake news was sold as truth in broad daylight and I had no way to prove otherwise. It was an accusation against me and I had no real way to justify myself, because I would look even worse, as some people had made up their minds that it was so. I had many messages and invitations on my phone to react, but at no point did I have a sentence: 'Sara, are you okay with all this that's happening? Do you need to talk or show another aspect of yourself?' I didn't find the human! This made me feel even worse!", declared Sara Mila.

Sara Mila further explained the reason why on her first day in parliament she wore a scarf around her neck with the accusations made against her by the opposition.

"Over time, I realized that the tango, which the opposition started and the media continued, I had to play too. Otherwise, I would hide in that corner where I have never hidden. The scarf was like a detail to tell everyone that it's not that I haven't heard what was said about me," said Mila.

The MP said that she feels hurt by the accusations, as do her family members.

"My family has never had a public approach, much less a political one. They have been involved in private ventures all their lives and have not seen politics as a friendly instrument and ally, but as a regulator of their daily lives. Suddenly and without realizing it, they were faced with the media, which not only did not spare them, but put them on a public trial. I know that most of them do not have it with Sara and her family, but with themselves. Touching the family and putting them against the wall for things that had nothing to do with them, hurt me. And they were hurt a lot," she confessed./ CNA
