Today marks 3 years since the start of the aggression in Ukraine and this moment has a significance for Europe and beyond. On this occasion, the German Embassy in Albania has shared a message.

In this message, the embassy emphasizes the essence of the war; freedom and independence.

It also recalls the start of the war, as a violation of Ukraine's independence from Russia since 2014, with the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea.

The embassy emphasizes that for as long as necessary, it will stand resolutely by the side of the Ukrainians.

"To live free and independent – ??this is what Ukrainians are fighting for courageously and tirelessly. On February 24, 2022, the aggressor Russia attacked all of Ukraine, after Vladimir Putin had violated Ukraine's independence since 2014 with the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea. Ukrainians are not only defending their country, but also our freedom and peace. As long as it is necessary, we will stand firmly by their side. Let's help support Ukraine together," the message reads. /CNA
