Prime Minister Edi Rama responded today to some of the comments made to him on social media. The comments come from various citizens, who write on the Prime Minister's Facebook account.

Rama received comments regarding salaries in Albania, compared to the situation in the region and Europe.

Rama said that there are no longer any old 250,000 lek salaries in Albania and that salary taxes are often not thought about.

The Prime Minister added that times are not what they used to be, the world is no longer the same, Europe today is no longer the same as it was yesterday, and the cost of living in Europe has increased.

Finally, he added that with the "Albania 2030" plan, there will be changes in this aspect as well.

"Interesting debate and with your permission I'm joining in to give my opinion. First, there have been no old 250 thousand lek salaries in Albania for a long time and second, the salary is what it seems, but after that there are also taxes and you know, 57% of salaries in Albania have no taxes at all while 36% of them have 4-10% taxes, while only salaries over 1300 euros have taxes over 10%.

Second, in tourism and construction in Albania you get the same as in Greece and pay less tax, while when you are outside your city, the company pays for both accommodation and food. These are facts and this explains the return of those who have started coming to work in tourism, for example, or of those who invest their savings in agrotourism abroad because they find it better somewhere.

Third, slow down with the "cake" and the "pie" because times are not what they used to be, the world is not the same anymore, Europe today is not the same as it was yesterday, and the cost of living in Europe has increased so much that there are no longer savings like there used to be, we all know this well.

Therefore, let everyone calmly look at their options and decide, whether to return completely, or partially, some time here and some time there, or by investing here and staying there. All are possible and of all these you find people who have returned or who have turned their eyes to Albania.

"We are on the path to the top of "Albania 2030", in a few years we will be members of the European Union, everything will change, but whoever comes today gives themselves the opportunity to gain more in advance rather than having everything become the same as everywhere else with entry into the European Union", said Rama. /CNA
