The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the nightly rally in his support, spoke about the arrest of the acting mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro.

Berisha raised claims that Goro is in prison because he could not defeat the opposition candidate, Fredi Beleri, in the May 14 elections.

He stated that the socialist mayor agreed to sign the forged documents of former minister Olta Xhaçka to favor her husband Artan Gaçi, to be declared a strategic investor in the Himara area.

The former prime minister emphasized that today Goro is in a cell, while Xhaçka stands as a monument of corruption in the Parliament.

"Dear friends, the former mayor of Himara, an indisputable thief, but he is in prison because he could not defeat Fredi Beleri. But he is in prison because he signed the forged documents of Olta Xha?ka and her strategic husband.

When I brought it up in parliament to Olta Xhaçka, she stood up in a language of her own, pretending that I was accusing a man who had taken his family's property.
