Tirana of two summits/Agim Nesho: Rama seeks to position himself as a Balkan
Dawn Nesho

Diplomat Agim Nesho, in an interview with journalist Fabjona Pasho, for CNA TV, commented on the successive summits held in Tirana this week.

According to Nesho, this was the summit of the Rama-Vucic duo to advertise their autocratic leadership as pro-Western.

"The Tirana summit was sponsored to show the special role of the Albanian prime minister and to promote old initiatives, such as the Open Balkans, which are important for US interest groups as well as regional powers, which want to held in the framework of internationally recognized figures. It was sponsored to elevate his role as an international figure. This summit produced a major victory for Vucic in Tirana, who rejected neither sanctions against Russia nor Russia's malign role in Western Balkans. The Russian presence to undermine the European defense architecture, the increase of their influence in the Balkan states, is more present. It was the weak moment of a policy, that Rama's government starts from the superficial sides and not from the essence. That is why this summit of Ukraine was nothing but a summit of Edi Rama and Vu?i?, to promote their figures as Balkan leaders, who also think about Ukraine", he said

The diplomat emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs ammunition, however, unlike what it assumed, Albania does not have the capacity to produce them.

"President Zelensky's request is an alarm bell for powerful countries, including the USA. There is no real possibility that the Balkans will have such a fart of armaments to help Ukraine. It is impossible to start now, there is no technology and infrastructure ", he declared.

Even for the Be-Western Balkans summit, Nesho said that the praises of Brussels should be taken with reservations, since the European Union is heading towards the elections.

"These seek to maintain an apparently pro-Western stance, but play their own interests, turning the Balkan area into a vast area of ??overlapping interests such as China, Turkey, Russia and Western countries. The EU is looking at integration of the Western Balkans as something related to geopolitics and it is in his interest that these countries enter the EU as soon as possible. In the Western Balkans there are various interests, clientelism, rampant corruption. Balkan politics will not enter the EU. It pretends to it acts as if it is a promoter. The interests of their power are in contradiction with the European Union", the diplomat emphasized.

Agim Nesho also commented on the presence of Alex Soros at both summits, calling it arrogance to show his influence in the region./ CNA
