The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, stated in a press conference held this Thursday that the CEC platforms have been under cyberattacks. In his speech, Celibashi said that he has communicated with the relevant institutions to follow up on these cases.

Celibashi added that the data shows that a large part of these attacks have been organized and sophisticated and not random.

"I can make it public today that the CEC platforms, starting with the one for registering voters from abroad, have been under cyberattacks. We have communicated with relevant institutions, such as those of cybersecurity and those related to the legal prosecution of these cases whenever they have been identified. We have 192 million requests registered in 7 days. We had a peak of 5700 requests per second. From the data we have, it results that a large part of these attacks have been organized and sophisticated and not random. All from abroad. They have been comparable to attacks that other countries have had for similar situations, such as France, Germany or Estonia", - said Celibashi. /CNA
