Vangjel Tavo spoke this Monday evening about his candidacy to lead the Municipality of Himara.

Tavo said that it was Prime Minister Edi Rama's proposal that he be appointed as the candidate of the Socialist Party for Himara

"The decision came after a meeting with the chairman of the SP, Mr. Edi Rama. I was asked to run for the Municipality of Himara. To tell you the truth, after a discussion and argumentation of the situation with the prime minister and the chairman of the SP, I decided to accept it The municipality of Himara as a challenge, but also as a responsibility. Himara, like other municipalities of the Republic, requires a management, the administration of affairs, especially since we are dealing with a coastal municipality. In the summer period, the flow of visitors is much increased, this requires a great commitment from the local government for the good management of work. As I told you, it is a challenge and a responsibility", he said.

Asked on the show "The Unexposed" why he agreed to run, Tavo said that the reason was to solve problems.

"I am a minority, but in my political journey, I have not been a localist. I was a representative of the minority of Gjirokastra, but also of Labëria, Libohova, but also of Përmet and Tepelena. Mr. Rama explained to me that my long experience in politics and this pushed him to run for Himara, to square the problems, to provide solutions.
