Meeting with young people/ Rama: On May 11, you have a historic vote for Albania

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with several young people in Tirana this afternoon. Rama held this meeting as part of the "First Voter for the European Passport" campaign, with young people who have just reached the age of majority and are voting for the first time.

Rama began his speech by emphasizing the importance of the May 11 elections, which he said were historic.

Rama stated that after the first pluralist elections in Albania, this is the first time that voters have in their hands a decision of this transformative nature for the country.

Rama said that the vote on May 11 is closely linked to Albania's path towards the European Union.

"There are a few days left until May 11. You are engaged in a campaign that has a historical importance for Albania. I want you to know that as voters, you do not always get it right, and you also have the privilege of something historical in your hands. Albania has been voting for almost 35 years now, but only once have Albanians had elections when history came into their hands. This happened when they were given the opportunity to choose and decide the direction of the country, for Albania in Europe or away from Europe. This is the reason why the majority voted for the DP, not because they were with that party, but that was the choice.

On May 11, the opportunity returns to the hands of Albanians to make history in the hands of voting. Since you are first-time voters and at an age when you are ready to embark on the path of life, your path is definitely connected to Europe. As many first-time voters as possible, because these are not simply elections for a party. The fate of Albania and what will happen to the European Union depends on what happens on May 11", said Rama. /CNA
