Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted again today, saying that he is the lawyer of SPAK, he is the man who founded it, but he is not doing anything there, nothing else. He is simply and only asking for standards. Because what he is doing is not an attack. It is not an attack to attack, anathematize, insult, slander, or threaten with messages, but to ask for standards. This is the move that Rama has made.
But, let's remind Prime Minister Rama what the standard is.
This is the standard that came out today from SPAK, where it is said that 10% of the total number of arrests there were made by this institution. Who did the rest?!
Secondly, is it standard to call prosecutors, as Edi Rama did years ago, asking them to arrest Albanians for energy theft, for illegal construction, or for drunk driving?! Yes! Yes. And they are also responsible before every court, because the prime minister at that time would call the heads of prosecution offices and they would call the prosecutors: "Arrest people!", for offenses that were punishable by 3 years in prison.
Someone who stole energy to heat their home, someone who fixed a roof and died in prison, or someone who smoked a pipe, would get 0.4 or 0.6, because they had drunk 2 or 3 beers. And these people would end up in prison.
This is Edi Rama's standard, not the standard of justice . This is Edi Rama's standard that has caused 351 thousand Albanians to have criminal records with sentences, for criminal offenses punishable by 0 to 3 years. People who should have been released on bail were called and pressure was exerted and prosecutors were threatened, why didn't they arrest them for the offenses that Edi Rama said they were.
And while today, when in a corruption case, he wants to have the people in prison and when justice goes to his people and Erion Veliaj, with criminal offenses that go up to 15 years in prison, he demands a different standard.
Although you see that he and his associates have gone to destroy the evidence, and although you see that the facts that have led Erion Veliaj to prison are proven on dozens of pages. And moreover, in a file where there are 8 accused people, only 2 are in prison, the other 6 are being prosecuted at large. Where is the standard?
When there is a history of corruption, they should be released, and when there are citizens for minor criminal offenses, who could have even bothered with that roof, that energy theft. They should be arrested, they should be in prison. This is Edi Rama's standard. And he has polluted 350 thousand Albanians. They have evidence of their criminality today with a sentence, simply and only from the phone calls and the pressure that Edi Rama and his government exerted on prosecutors, who said: "Look, the police are prosecuting them, why are you releasing them?"
While today, it requires standards to release someone who risks 15 years in prison, someone who threatens prosecutors, someone who publishes addresses, someone who shows his teeth, blackmails judges, including the prime minister.
But what Erion Veliaj did from prison is a criminal offense. What the prime minister does should also be recorded as such. But if we talk about politics and morality, Edi Rama, with his standard, to hit the people, to put them in prison, has punished 350 thousand Albanians, but he feels sorry for Erion Veliaj's standard, not for ordinary citizens, while Erion Veliaj's criminal offenses, as mentioned above, are 5 times those offenses for which defenseless citizens have been punished, while Erion Veliaj should have a standard because he has a lawyer, Edi Rama./CNA
