The vice-president of the Freedom Party, Erisa Xixho, in a statement to the media said that the Ministry of Education and Sports continues to be silent about the scandal of the ghost project for scholarships in the United States of America "Let's talk together about US 2024".

According to her, the project was set up by order of the leaders of the Ministry of Education, while the latter have left the students who hoped to benefit from the scholarships to the mercy of fate.

"The Klea Rama scandal is the next proof that shows how serious the functioning of the education system in Albania is. This scandal shows the total lack of responsibility from the Minister and Deputy Minister of Education, who ordered the entire implementation of this project without any prior verification, being complicit in this fraud scheme.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, this project was extended to 68 high schools in the country, and has engaged hundreds of teachers and coordinators inside and outside of school hours, showing once again how easy it is to line up every employee of the state administration, used the Prime Minister's surname Rama.

It is enough to mention the name Rama and an entire ministry is set in motion from the highest leaders to the simplest teacher, at any moment of the day. Commissions are set up, certificates are issued and reports are drawn up, all with the signatures and seals of the ministry.

The scandal that they are trying to limit to the name of Klea Rama is in open violation of MAS order no. 634, dated 25.10.2022, 'On the establishment of the working group for the review and evaluation of projects of non-governmental organizations/associations, and individuals seeking cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports in the field of pre-university education'. Which did not happen with Clea Rama's fraud scheme.

The Ministry of Education itself, in fact, has given an order for the implementation of this fraud scheme, without any prior verification, becoming its co-director, and this cannot be hidden with any silence.

Hundreds of teachers have worked hundreds of hours a year without being paid, after being ordered by the Ministry to do this work, thousands of young people, on the other hand, have been disappointed, after they trusted this project, seeing it as a real opportunity for the future theirs.

The Ministry of Education, which bears no responsibility for the failure it has plunged education into, still has no answer for the students, for the parents, for the teachers, who, although they were forced to commit to this project, are now under pressure to remain silent, because they are threatened with their jobs", she emphasized.

"Let's talk together about US 2024", was a project that offered free scholarships to the US, a fraud scheme that led to the imprisonment of a 20-year-old man from Devolli, who had created a false identity by posing as Klea Rama, the niece of the Albanian Prime Minister and was able to infiltrate the structure of the Ministry of Education, without ever meeting any officials./ CNA
