"Albanians need a parliament"/ Mediu: We will demand the formation of

Former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu has stated that he will seek the formation of pre-election coalitions.

During an interview in Euronews, Mediu emphasized that it is unacceptable that Albania has been part of NATO for 15 years and we still do not have fair elections.

He adds that Albanians need a parliament and the opposition needs a parliament.  

Among other things, he underlined that Albanians need a parliament and the opposition should do everything possible to strengthen the political party.

"Coalitions should be allowed because the system we have if the right goes fragmented directly favors the majority.

Every vote that is not returned to the mandate for a political party, goes to the advantage of another party. Although SP has 48%, it has more than 51% of the deputies in the Assembly of Albania.

We will demand the formation of coalitions before the elections. It is unacceptable that we have been in NATO for 15 years and still do not hold fair elections.

I know that most of my fellow MPs share the same attitude with me. I am ready to listen attentively to the opinion of any colleague who tells me that this is the best way to fatten the political party. Albanians need a parliament. The opposition is interested in parliament", he said./ CNA
