The Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party has addressed the Assembly for the establishment of a Special Commission for disinformation.

The focus of this special parliamentary commission will be the coordination and supervision of all institutional efforts to combat disinformation and other forms of foreign interference in democratic processes in Albania.

According to the request of the SP, the Special Commission, through a comprehensive and long-term approach, should promote the identification of foreign interference in democratic processes through a series of forms, including disinformation campaigns through traditional and social media to shape public opinion. , direct and indirect financial support as well as the malicious economic influence of public actors and the undermining of civil society activity.

The Socialist Party says that the Special Commission will carry out a complete analysis of all factors and phenomena, to assess whether the legal obligations in force have been respected.
