"Albania is in its most difficult day"/ Doctor Erion Dasho runs in the

Renowned physician Erion Dasho announced today that he has decided to run in the Democratic Party primaries.

In a post on social media, Dasho says he will run as a candidate in the Berat District.

Dasho has also listed the reasons that prompted him to run, emphasizing that Albania is in its most difficult day, stolen, robbed, left in the hands of a gang of thieves who have been governing for 12 years in partnership with drug trafficking and organized crime.

"Since accepting my candidacy in the Primaries for the May 11 elections, I have answered dozens of times the following three questions posed by many friends, colleagues, and well-wishers:

?Why am I running?
?Why am I running in Berat?
?Why am I running for the Democratic Party?
Let me answer these questions in the same order.

WHY AM I RUNNING?
I am running because Albania is in its most difficult day, stolen, robbed, left in the hands of a gang of thieves that has been governing for 12 years in partnership with drug trafficking and organized crime.
This gang has today received strong blows not only thanks to the unprecedented resistance of the opposition and resisters, but also thanks to the messages coming from the West, especially after the spectacular victories of President Trump and Chancellor Merz.
However, anyone who thinks that this gang has surrendered is gravely mistaken!
Anyone who thinks that victory is certain is gravely mistaken again!
The criminals of the Renaissance will not give up easily. The patronageists are still at work! They have even crossed into the diaspora where they are buying votes and manipulating the registration. Just yesterday, a citizen in Greece reported that the patronageists had offered to "help" him through a fake address. Even a child understands the trick. The ballot will go to one address. the patronageist and will be filled out by the latter!
Only by uniting in a single front democrats, intellectuals, Albanians of Albania and the diaspora, citizens without political commitment, but who care about the country, can we defeat the Renaissance monster.
A second, very strong reason could not be missing. For years, I have been analyzing the destruction of the Albanian healthcare system, that system where I was educated as a doctor and ophthalmologist, that system where I contributed for 17 years by implementing and leading some of the most successful projects in years, such as the primary care reform, hospital autonomy and telemedicine.
I have been writing, speaking and criticizing for over 20 years, not only finding flaws and mistakes, and accusing of crimes, but also offering solutions. With the opposition's victory on May 11, there will be a need for my contribution to reforming healthcare and placing it at the service of the patient's health and life, not at the service of enriching the oligarchs!
For this reason, I am leaving the comfort created with hard work and sacrifice, leaving Germany, which has become the place where thousands of Albanian doctors and nurses have found their second home, to get involved in the primary race and, then, in the May 11 campaign as part of the winning opposition team!

WHY AM I RUNNING IN BERAT?
In recent years, by discussing at the national level important topics such as healthcare, the pandemic, healthcare concessions, the country's depopulation, the crimes of the Renaissance, Edi Rama and his gang, and dozens of other topics, I have created friends and well-wishers throughout the country.
Living and working in Tirana, coming in the last year often especially from Germany to participate in the protests of the Street of Hope, taking the floor there, addressing the participants even more often via videoconference, I could think about running for the Tirana District.
But the moment I decided to run, I did not think twice about coming and running for Berat!
Berat is my birthplace, where I have family friends, childhood friends, the strongest ties, it is the place with which I have identified and will always identify!
Like all of Albania, Berat has suffered the crimes of the Renaissance, the people of Berat have suffered injustice, dismissals, spying by patronageists, the lack of opportunities for themselves and their families. Here I am not only talking about the democrats and oppositionists of Berat, but all the people of Berat.
It doesn't matter if a pensioner is a democrat or a socialist, the average pension of 180 Euros is not even enough to buy a pair of underwear from the ones used by the renaissance party. It doesn't matter if a family is left or right, their children are still exiled in emigration.
For this reason, I am running in Berat, to inspire and gather together, first the democrats and then all Beratans in the victory of May 11.

WHY AM I RUNNING FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?
I am not a member of the Democratic Party. Denouncing the crimes of the renaissance party and Edi Rama in healthcare and beyond has placed us on a common front with the DP and the real opposition.
When we denounced together with our democratic and opposition colleagues the healthcare concessions that cost the sick 500 million euros, when we denounced the crimes during the pandemic that killed 20 thousand Albanians, when we developed and discussed together the options and possibilities for the development of tomorrow's healthcare.
We were united by the unequivocal stance in support of the leader of the opposition, Dr. Berisha, the only European oppositionist who suffered political imprisonment in the 21st century. In support of Dr. Berisha, I openly wrote in the media and social media "I am also a non-grata today".
Today I believe with conviction that the Renaissance people's days are numbered, that Edi Rama will very soon go to keep his thief Lali and his concessions Beqe company in prison. And, above all, I am convinced that only the Democratic Party has the opportunity to accomplish this mission.
Just as the DP overthrew its bloodthirsty fathers in 1990, it will overthrow their thieving sons 35 years later!
But I have another reason that brings me closer to the Democratic Party and its Leader Berisha, the appreciation and respect they have shown for me personally over all these years.
It is no small appreciation to open the proceedings of the Parliament where Sali Berisha and dozens of democrats with undeniable values ??speak!
It is no small appreciation to address tens of thousands of democrats in the square from the tribune of a protest!
It is no small appreciation to be invited to the group that drafts the opposition's health program and to contribute to it with your thoughts and suggestions.
Also to reward this appreciation to the Democratic Party, I am running today!

I am firmly convinced that the DP does not only need democrats on May 11!
On the contrary!
Democrats, oppositionists and resistanceists will be the yeast where victory will be born, but the secret of victory lies in the inspiration of every Albanian citizen.
To win on May 11, the Democratic Party needs to have around it and, of course, among the candidates, citizens, professionals and intellectuals who share the same values, principles and ideals.
