Depopulation/ Garo raises concern: The numbers are frightening

The spokesperson of the Democratic Party, Floriana Garo, during a television interview, stated that the figures of depopulation in the country are frightening.

According to Garo, what can be offered to the Albanians left is to change the system, to provide them with the conditions and opportunities for a better life and by raising their voices against any injustice. 

"Depopulation is the biggest scandal we have, the numbers are scary. The Albanians are out now, and we are calling on them to decide the fate of Albania when they are out, it's very ironic to think about it. It is a serious wound, when you don't have a future in Albania with your relatives, you are seeing it outside. I have experienced immigration myself and then it was somehow more acceptable, unforgivable to continue the same situation with more numbers. Albania was one more hope, when I returned to the DP era. We saw a bright future then. In recent years, every young person I meet tells me that they see salvation outside. This is very sad.

They want to return as long as they see change in Albania. They see life abroad as temporary and will return if there is a change in our country. Previously, they fled due to economic impossibility. But now the middle class is leaving, not only for the economy, but also for health, education, which is at the lowest levels. For a family that will send their children to university abroad. Parents are also leaving to stand by the child's side, to support him, so that he is not alone. The idea and desire to return to Albania is.

Let's fix things in Albania, without changing this rotten system in justice, education and health. The budget had to be invested in sectors where citizens' lives are based. Even those who are good here will probably leave later. We must raise our voice for any injustice. There is no better country than Albania. We manage to make a difference here", said Garo./ CNA
