At the meeting with ministries and MPs in the pink headquarters, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the dismissal of Erion Veliaj was a step they were forced to take, considering it mandatory for the fate of the capital of Albania.
"Before an elected mayor and convicted by justice for his duty, we were forced to take a debatable step in relation to Veliaj but mandatory in relation to the fate of the capital of Albania. The council approved the dismissal of the mayor yesterday to pave the way for new elections."
"A lot has been said about this step, but it's not worth dealing with those who have the sun on their heads," said Rama./ CNA
